Airports-in-the-Dominican-Republic

Kay on the grounds of Dreams Resort in Punta Cana
There are seven Airports-in-the-Dominican-Republic. That makes most of the Resorts and most popular areas very accessible.
The busiest of all the airports is the Punta Cana International Airport. It handles about 2 Million passengers per year. That’s because of the great Resorts that are in the Punta Cana and Bavaro area.
The other airports include Las Americas International Airport. It sits about 15 miles (20 minutes) outside of Santo Domingo, the capitol city of the Dominican Republic.
El Catey International Airport, this is an impressive and I might add, a very efficiently run airport. It’s about 25 miles (40 minutes) outside of Santa Barbara de Samana.
Cibao International Airport right in Santiago: Gregorio Luperon International Airport, in Puerto Plata, which is only about 7 miles from Playa Dorada.
La Isabela International Dr. Joaquin Balaguer Airport. This airport is also referred to as Higuero or even Isabela Airport. It’s about 10 miles north of Santo Domingo.
La Romana-Casa de Campo International Airport near the Casa de Campo resort.
The newly renovated Las Americas in Santo Domingo is much more efficient than it used to be.
If you book your vacation through a travel agent or online with us, make sure you receive airport transfers. If you don’t get airport transfers you will need to take a taxi or rent a car.
When you are departing from the busier International Airports in Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata or Punta Cana give yourself plenty of time because there will be long lines.
