The changing of the Capitol-Building-Guards is a neat thing to see. It takes about 15 or 20 minutes for them to complete the process.
When we arrived we were amassed at all the flags. They allowed us to take photos; however, there were ropes that confined us to certain areas of the large room.
Everything was so very clean. The floor shined as much as the walls. As you can see in the photo above, the men are impeccably dressed in their dress uniforms.
We were all trying to get a good position to take photos. One lady was not looking where she was going and knocked down one of the flag poles. That got everyone attention with the exception of the guards.
When the metal pole hit the marble floor it made a heck of a loud noise. We all jumped. The guards didn’t blink an eye. They just continued their routine I’m sure that wasn’t the first time that had happened.
The next time we go I’ll make a video of the whole routine. It is really something to see.
