The place is designed after the residence of the first Governor of the Americas.The rooms have tall ceilings, canopied king size beds. The windows have shutters and stoned benches. There are smaller rooms in the annex with river views. Beautiful trees shade the luxurious fresh water pool. The bar serves hors d’oeuvres when the music man does his thing. This is the place to meet new friends. Pros: Fantastic breakfast buffet, this is one of the Historic parts of the Dominican Republic. Cons: The lovely restaurant could have better service, If you’re looking for lively evening entertainment this is not the place for that. Sofitel Nicolas Ovanda has 100 rooms, 4 suites, all with a safe and a refrigerator. What a great hideaway.The lobby is dominated by the color blue, however, it is tastefully done. Rooms have canopied king size beds. The honeymoon suite has a jacuzzi If you decide to stay in one of the suites you should know that the bathrooms are small but the upgrade is well worth the extra money. The Friday night party is a Mexican fiesta, complete with dancers and karaoke. Hodelpa Caribe Colonial has 52 rooms, 2 suites all have a safe. The hotel has a fine restaurant, room service, bar, concierge, laundry service, public Internet.
Hotel La AtarazanaThis Dominica-Republic-Bed-and-Breakfast is a renovated town-house with a big wrought iron gate.You will see the bar on the left as you enter. In the rear there is a big courtyard filled with tables and umbrella’s. You will feel like you have found your oasis with the water flowing down the coral stone wall. Suzanne and Bernie will welcome you to their Dominican-Republic-Bed-and-Breakfast with open arms. Bernie designed the hotel. Rooms are small and very clean. The courtyard is where you will have your European style breakfast. The cocktail hour is also enjoyed in the courtyard. Pros: The hotel has a rooftop terrace with fantastic views, the service and the location are excellent. Cons: There isn’t a restaurant in the hotel, the rooms closest to the front are noisy is the AM. The Hotel La Atarazana has 7 rooms, only some of the rooms are air-conditioned, public Internet, laundry service, public WiFi, no smoking rooms, no elevators. Tortuga Bay VillasLooking for a Dominican-Republic-Bed-and-Breakfast with many amenities? Look no further, you have found what you want.Grand vistas of the sea and a private beach are all within the grounds of the Puntacana Resort & Club. Service is special here. You will have your very own villa manager who will try to anticipate your every wish and desire. Your villa manager is accessible by a cell phone that will be presented to you upon your arrival. The Oscar de la Renta designed rooms are understated elegance with Caribbean colors and plush bed linens. The bathrooms all have a Jacuzzi for two, robes, slippers, and toiletries. Your mini bar will be stocked with premium liquors for your enjoyment. A flat screen TV in each room. A golf cart is included to help you get around. That is because the villas guest have their own private restaurant however, they have access to all the facilities of the main resort, including the golf course and the spa. Pros: Outstanding golf, beautiful grounds and outstanding personal service. And you can do your check-in at the airport. This Dominican-Republic-Bed-and-breakfast hasn't any Cons that I'm aware of. Peninsula HouseThis Dominican-Republic-Bed-and-Breakfast is one of the best on the planet. With a wraparound veranda that overlooks coconut palms all the way to the ocean.It’s a family run property. Their art collection is scattered throughout the House. Dinner is served, only to the guest, in the open-air courtyard. The experience will stay with you forever. The rooms are luxuriously furnished. They have spared no expense. Even the stationary will impress you. This is not a full fledged resort; however I recommend it to any that can afford $600. a night. If you’re into super luxury travel this place will not disappoint you. Pros: Quiet and peaceful, off the beaten path, luxurious, the service is second to none. The only thing that comes close to being a Con is the cost. And for what you get, it’s a steal. The Peninsula House has 6 rooms; each room has a safe, DVD, WiFi. The hotel has a very social bar, pool, spa, laundry service, public WiFi, no kids under 18 and no elevator. Hotel Las Ballenas EscondidasThis Dominican-Republic-Bed-and-Breakfast has a private beach. If you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing place to stay, this is the place for you.There is a French pair that runs this small resort. You will absolutely love the gardens throughout the grounds and the thatched roofed bungalows are great. A fresh water pool runs through the grounds, Your serenity will be assured. This place is in the middle of nowhere. At night the only music you will here is the waves rolling in and out on that private beach. All the bungalows have a furnished private terrace. Sit, relax enjoy the view, the peace and the quiet. The bungalows are furnished with ceiling fan but no air conditioning. You can book a boating trip that will come to your private beach to pick you up and bring you back to your Dominican-Republic-Bed-and-Breakfast. This very quiet and beautiful resort has only one draw-back that I’m aware of, they don’t accept credit cards. However, if you’re looking for peace and relaxation the inconvenience is worth it. Hotel Las Ballenas Escondidas has 12 bungalows, safe, refrigerator, no phone, no TV. They have a restaurant, bar, pool, beachfront, laundry service. Dominican-Republic-Bed-and-Breakfast and Resort Reviews Here Villa SerenaThis Dominican-Republic-Bed-and-Breakfast is in the eastern corner of the peninsula. You can walk over to Main Street and mingle with the locals or talk to the day trippers.Snorkeling equipment kayaks and bicycles are all included in the price. The outer islands are available for a picnic you can kayak out to one if you like. You will absolutely love the full breakfast. You can take a tour of all the area’s secluded beaches and be dropped off at one of your choice for as long as you like. There is a cost for this tour. The staff is exceptional at this property. The Villa Serena has 21 rooms with no a/c, no TV, and no phone. The hotel has fine restaurants, bar, pool, private beachfront, bicycles, laundry service, no elevators, and public WiFi.
