Dominican-Republic-Nightlife Reviews

Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock Cafe Santo Domingo

Many travelers say there is no better Dominican-Republic-Nightlife than Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone.

The nightlife in Santo Domingo is always changing.

You will have to check on the curfew for the clubs. The last time I was there they had to close at midnight during the week and 2:00 AM both Friday and Saturday.

Check with the concierge at your Resort or Hotel where you are staying. They can make reservations for you and also give you a copy of a free guide to all the clubs on the Island.

My wife and I belong to a couple dancing clubs in our area and they do a lot of dancing. It is nothing like the Dominican Republic. I believe that every person on the Island dances. If you can get a table near the dance floor you will absolutely love watching these people dance.

By the way, most of the clubs in the Resorts stay open until dawn or until there are no more people to party.

This is a fantastically decorated piano bar. You will think you are in a hip apartment in the heart of France. Lighting is also great for the romantic.

Guacara Taina:

What a unique setting. You will tell all your friends back home about this one.

It is set in one of the many caves that are found in Santo Domingo.

Seating is carved into the limestone walls. This place has become a great tourist attraction.

This is Dominican-Republic-Nightlife at it's very best.

The Led Cafe

Santo Domingo Club Led D J

The Led Club DJ

The Led:

Located in a hotel the curfew doesn’t apply here, so they go until the wee hours of the morning.

The young crowd will love to party in this hotel Disco.

A great place for private parties because you can also stay the night at the hotel.

Marrakesh Café & Bar:

Marrakesh Cafe Santo Domingo Dominican Republic

This is for the upscale after work crowd to gather in the early evening.

You will enjoy both international and American music. Great jazz on one night.Keep in mind that this a hotel place also.

Nowhere Bar

The crowd is young and affluent with a sprinkling of Americans going to college in Santo Domingo.

DJ’s play most of the music during the week. Live bands take to the stage on the weekends.

The Nowhere bar is “the house of shots,” most likely because it offers the city’s longest happy hour.

This bar is always full of action offering drink specials from 5pm until 9pm each day.

Ladies night on Tuesday’s allows women to drink free from 8pm until 10pm. Locals and tourists alike flock to this popular nightspot.

This bar was seen in the movie Miami Vice and is a favorite among American college students

Praia Bar and Wine Lounge

Tourist and the affluent locals love this bar and wine lounge. Music is electronic and the drinks are expensive.

Looking for more Dominican-Republic-Nightlife?

Montecristo: A Great bar during the daytime hours. A very lively disco when the sun goes down. Just to watch the dancing is worth the trip.

Montecristo resides in the Palma Real Shopping Village in Bavaro.

Don’t worry Bavaro and Punta Cana are right next to each other.

As a backdrop to the dance floor they have a big video screen which is quite interesting. The DJ’s spin the music most of the time but they do have live music occasionally. The locals really cut-a-rug on that dance floor.

If you are staying at one of the Punta Cana or Bavaro All-Inclusive Resorts and would like a change of scenery the club has an arrangement with most of the hotels and resort where they will come and pick you up and bring you back.

You will love getting a group together to enjoy this hip club. There is no cover charge at this place. They have a special drink each night with a special price. 809-552-8999.

Even more Dominican-Republic-Nightlife

The North Coast Nightlife

Cafe Cito is now Tubagua Plantation

Dominican-Republic-Nightlife.

After more than ten years serving visitors and residents in Puerto Plata, Cafe Cito closed its doors for good in July 2009.

They wish to thank all the loyal customers and friends they made over the years. They also don't want to lose touch!

Even though Cafe Cito has closed, they're still alive and well, operating a beautiful eco-resort in the mountains just 15 minutes away from Puerto Plata.

If Cafe Cito made good memories for you, you'll love their new Tubagua Plantation Village, where in addition to the great food we'd serve at Cafe Cito you can also come and spend the night, or a few days, enjoying our natural surroundings and a spectacular ocean view, "one thousand feet above stress level."

Dominican-Republic-Nightlife

Gravity: Another resort party place. You do not have to be a guest of the resort to enter though. Locals and tourist are both welcome.

If you want to try this place you better be a late-night person. The place doesn’t really crank up until midnight. They stop about 4:00 AM.

Dominican-Republic-Nightlife

The rock and reggae is mostly played by DJ’s. They do have live bands from time to time and there will be a cover charge when they do.

The food is fine. They will make you an American Hamburger just like in the States.

Thursday is Karaoke night. Saturday they will entertain you with a Latin fiesta.

Dominican-Republic-Nightlife

Mangu Disco: Every tourist in the area should check out this very popular club. The locals are fun to watch. They have a group of local dancers that will perform for you. Of course you can also get up and dancer if you like.

They also have a ladies night. It’s for the women whose husbands are at the casino. The MC and the dancers will help you learn the local dance steps.

Don’t let the weapons and drug signs scare you, they are mandated by the government for your safety.

Onno’s Bar: This happening place is on Cabarete Beach. It’s both fun and friendly. You will meet folks from all over the globe.

On Friday and Saturday night it can get very crowded. If you are into that scene you will love this place. It’s easier to get served at the beach bar than the main bar. They stay open until 3:00 AM on Friday and Saturday.

Lax: This open air club is also at Cabarete Beach. You can lounge in the beach chairs or get under the Palapa. A DJ or a live band will keep you rockin.

As for the food, they have a daily special from different parts of the globe. The price will not send you to the ATM either.

Dominican-Republic-Nightlife
