Airports in the Dominican Republic: There are six major international airports in the Dominican Republic. Santo Domingo (SDQ), La Romana (LRM), Puerto Plata (POP), Punta Cana (PUJ), Samana (AZS) and Santiago (STI).

Boca Chica and Juan Dolio have crowded beaches and mediocre resorts, however, the prices are the cheapest on the Island.

On the other hand, the Barahona region is both beautiful and isolated. It’s about a 4 hour drive to Santo Domingo.

Punta Cana is absolutely the most popular all-inclusive resort area on the Island. The beaches are not crowded and the resorts cater to your every need and desire. Punta Cana Activities are great.

Samana is also isolated and not as developed and it’s getting easier to get to with the addition of some new flights.

Playa Dorado, on the North Coast, is the Dominican Republics original resort area with some good golf courses and some good all-inclusive resorts.
