Very few of the so called Punta Cana resorts are in Punta Cana.

They are advertised as Punta Cana resorts because that is where the International Airport is located. The actual resorts are 20 minutes to an hour away from the Airport.

So when people talk about Punta-Cana-Real-Estate they are actually talking about a larger area. This includes a beautiful little town called Bavaro.

A Beautiful Punta Cana Villa

The Bavaro beaches are on the Atlantic side of the Dominican Republic. The sand at the Bavaro beaches is much whiter than the beaches at most the Punta Cana resorts.

Most of the resorts are very nice. They are rated from 3 to 5 stars. They are like every thing else (You get what you pay for).

Most of the 3 and 4 star resorts have good food; have good service, and are clean. Most of the 5 star resorts have excellent food, great service and are very clean. The 5 star resorts have more staff that speak English.

Our favorite 5 star resort is (Dreams Punta Cana ), (Formally named Sunscape the Beach). In our opinion what sets one resort apart from all the others is the service you get from the staff.

We visited many condos while we were in the Dominican Republic in January 2010. Some you could rent and some that were for sale.

Some of the rentals have an ocean view and some do not. Of course, the closer you get to the beach the higher the price.

All the condos you see on the page are within walking distance to the beach.

All the condo communities are gated and have a guard 24/7. You meet a verity of people at the condos. Some are renting like you and some own their condos as vacation homes. Most of the vacation condo owners rent their condos out when they are not there. What a great way to pay the mortgage.
