Our Punta-Cana-Tour to Santo Domingo

Life size Knight at Santo Domingo Museum
The Punta-Cana-Tour desk told us that we were to be aboard our tour bus at 7:30 AM for our Santo Domingo day trip. It’s about a 2 hour drive to Santo Domingo.Everyone we spoke to that had been on the trip said the ride was worth it and that there were many photo opportunities along the way. So this morning we have a light and fast breakfast. We make a couple bloody mary’s to go. No Brandy this morning. The bus is close to being full. So we are not the only ones willing to brave this bus ride. By the way, make sure you have your camera at the ready. You will want to take some Punta Cana photos. Plus the trip is full of interesting sites in the small towns you will be passing through. The weather in the Dominican Republic is funny. It rained twice on the way to Santo Domingo but when we arrived the sun was shining bright again. We made a pit stop about half way there. A very nice restaurant and gift shop with clean bathrooms. Travel in the Dominican Republic is kind of tight when you are on a big tour bus going through a little town. Our first stop in Santo Domingo is a museum. Our tour guide turns us over to the folks that will take us through the museum. If I remember correctly this museum is in a fort where Christopher Columbus lived. Here are some of the photos we were able to take while on this tour. Click on the photo to see a larger image and more content
