Punta-Cana-Tours & Day Trips

Boarding The Speed Boat To Begin Our Tour To Saona Island
Saona Island Day Trip

We stopped At A Sandbar On The Way To The Island
One of our favorite Punta-Cana-Tours is actually a day trip to Saona Island
Before you leave on your Saona Island speed boat and catamaran day trip here are a few suggestions of items you may want to take with you.
Of course sunglasses, sun screen, a hat with a bill on it, a beach towel. They have plenty beach chairs on the Island, however, you will need a towel.Don't forget your camera.
I would suggest also that you purchase what I call deck shoes. They are rubber shoes that fit your feet snugly. They will help when you board the boats, (Keep you from slipping). They will also protect your feet while you’re in the water. The shoes will help on many of the wet Punta-Cana-Tours.
When the bus arrives at the dock the first thing you will want to do is use the restroom.
You will have plenty time. There will be booths for you to purchase the items you may have forgot to bring.
I would also suggest that you leave your cash back at the hotel in your room safe if possible. You don't need a whole lot of money on most of the Punta-Cana-Tours you go on. I would take about $20.
We didn’t take any money and almost missed out on something that has been a subject of conversation at our house since we returned.
When we arrived someone had us pose for a photo. When we returned from the Island and were about to board the bus for our trip back to the resort we were presented with the opportunity to purchases a bottle of rum with our photo on the label.
Lucky for us there were some other folks from our resort and we were able to borrow the $12.it cost to buy the bottle.
You will enjoy a lovely scenic, (approx. 2 hours) bus ride, as you do on many of the Punta-Cana-Tours, to the dock where you will board the speed boat and begin your day trip. Your return trip from the Island will be on a large Catamaran.
For some that will be reversed. You may take the Catamaran to the Island and return on the speed boat.
The trip is very relaxing except for the speed boat ride. Please don’t be misled. It is not a rough ride. It is however, exhilarating. It was one of the highlights of the trip for us.
Remember, on these Punta-Cana-Tours, you will be on the Caribbean side of the Dominican Republic. Everything will be calmer.
White sandy beaches, coconut palms, crystal clear turquoise waters and a special Dominican touch makes for an unforgettable day of relaxation.
Your first stop before you reach the Island will be for a cocktail at the amazing 'Natural Pool' lagoon which is famous for an abundance of starfish.
You will hesitate when they tell you that you can jump in and swim for awhile. The reason for your hesitation will be because you will be about a mile off the Island. Don’t worry the water is only about waist high.
Continue to Saona Island for a barbeque lunch served buffet-style under the shade of palm trees. The rest of the day is up to you - spend your 3 hours of leisure on Saona Island lounging on the sand, playing beach games, exploring the island or get an introduction to Merengue dancing.
Highlights:
• Hotel pick up and drop off
• Scenic 2 hour drive to the dock
• Catamaran cruise
• Beverages and fruit on board the catamaran
• BBQ Lunch and beverages on the beach
• 3 hours of Leisure on Soana Island
On the return sailing voyage you will be entertained by the musical crew as you enjoy the unlimited open bar. Kay & I put on a little dance, (jitterbug) show that the young folks enjoyed.
When you return from your Punta Cana Tour you will be ready to enjoy a good dinner.
