Teenagers Selling Bananas In Santo Domingo

SantoDomingo-Photos. When they gave us our free time, in Santo Domingo, we went walking around just to see what we could find on our own. We could not resist taking a photo of these kids and their donkey, selling Bananas.

Of course they didn't speak English. That's another thing you should be aware of when on vacation in a country where they don't speak your language.

I think it's fun to try to get someone, that doesn't speak your language, to understand what your trying to tell them.

Some advise about that. As we walked around the city on our tour we noticed other people trying to get a native Dominican to understand what they were saying.

One young fellow we noticed was really rude to the person he was trying to talk to. Body language, I think, is the same in any country.

This guy just assumed that because the Dominican coundn't understand him that the person was stupid. He even raised his voice a few times.

The lesson I took away from this situation was not to assume that the people are stupid just because they don't understand your language.

While on our tour we did find some people that did speak some English.
