Day 4 of Our All Inclusive Vacation

Saoma Beach View

Saona Beach on the Caribbean side of the Dominican Republic

Travel-in-the-Dominican-Republic is great. You see something exciting around every bend.

We have booked a Speedboat and Catamaran day trip for today. We will be visiting a small Island in the Caribbean Sea.

Our tour bus will pick us up at the resort about 10:00 AM today so there is no big rush to eat breakfast today. I will do my usual routine; Bloody Mary, Hot Tea, an Omelet that I choose everything that goes into it.

After breakfast a nice relaxing Brandy and Coffee. After that it’s back to the room to make sure Kay is getting ready for our trip.

When Kay has had her coffee we board the bus. This is a popular trip so the bus is full today. Everyone is ready for more Travel-in-the-Dominican-Republic.

Lunch today will be ready for us on the Island we will visit. It will be like a big picnic they yell us, with grilled steak, burgers and fresh veggies with beer or soft drinks all included in the price of the trip.

Our resort is on the Atlantic side of the Island so the bus will take us to the Caribbean Sea side. After about a half hour drive we arrive. They give us a few minutes to use the facilities before we board the Speedboat.

The boat ride is absolutely exhilarating. We see the small Island off in the distance. The boat stops about 2 miles off shore and the driver says we can get out and swim with the Star-fish if we like. We are actually on a sandbar.

One of his helpers jump in and the water isn’t deep at all. His other helper is giving everyone a rum and coke. Everyone gets into the water and plays with the Star-fish for a while.

When we get to the Island we are greeted by the staff. The beach is absolutely beautiful. We are served beer and rum drinks.

Kay and I enjoy some relaxing sunbathing before lunch. By the way, you hear island music the whole time your on the Island.

After lunch, which was very good, the girls are going to teach us some island dancing. I’m always up for some dancing.

It’s time to go. Here comes our Catamaran for our slow trip back. There are actually 2 Catamarans.

They have music and dancing on the Catamaran, and again we are served rum drinks and beer and soft drinks. Kay and I danced with the staff. This is the way to travel-in-the-Dominican-Republic

When we disembark from the Catamaran we are greeted by more staff. I forgot to tell you that they took our photo before we boarded the Speedboat. We didn’t know what that was all about but we found out before we got on the bus for our return trip.

They had colorful bottles of rum with our photo as the label. They only charged $12. So how could you resist such a memento? We enjoyed the day immensely.

When we arrive back at the resort it’s time for a little nap before dinner.

We made reservations at the Japanese restaurant tonight. You know, where everyone sits around the grill and the chef puts on a show while he cooks your dinner.

Well, that’s day 4 and the way we travel-in-the-Dominican-Republic.. See you tomorrow.
