Vacation-Things-to-Know Before You Go

Kay at Ocean Blue resort

Kay with 1956 Ford at Ocean Blue Resort in Punta Cana

Vacation-Things-to-know!

There are a few things you need to know before you leave for vacation.

Proof of citizenship! Proper proof of citizenship is your responsibility. The name on your proof of citizenship must match the name on your travel documents.

If you are returning by air from any international destination a valid passport is required. A birth certificate is no longer acceptable. If you are over 18 years old and traveling within the United States or to any U. S. territory, including Puerto Rico and the U. S. Virgin Islands, only a valid government issued photo I.D. is required.

If you need to obtain a passport contact your nearest U. S. Post Office.

If you plan to marry in another country be sure to contact the local tourist office and consulate in which you a getting married for legal documents that may be required.

Master Card, Visa and American Express are accepted in most destinations. Local banks and Hotels provide a currency exchange.

Certain restaurants at most resorts have a dress code for dinner. Make sure you pack accordingly. Business casual will suffice in most cases, Slacks and blouse for the lady, long pants and collared shirt for the guys. I always wear a sport coat on the way there so just in case I would need one for any reason.
